The Best of Milan and Paris Fashion Week Spring 2011

Ok, so I cheated yesterday and didn't post The Best of Milan Fashion Week Spring 2011, as part of my Fashion Week Series, so today you get a double whammy, Milan and Paris!

First up is Milan, and with big hitters like Dolce & Gabbana, Emilio Pucci, Versace, Gucci, Fendi, Giorgio Armani, Missoni, Moschino, Prada AND Roberto Cavalli, it has a very different feel to the other fashion weeks. Some of the smaller, edgier styles and flavour that emerging designers bring is lost in a sometimes too realistic and commercial fashion week. But that said, I do have a favourite - Dsquared². everything looked so effortless and easy with this masculine, yet feminine geek chic collection that was kitsch and tongue in cheek, while being completely wearable and stylish. There wasn't much I wouldn't wear - Oxford Geek meets Femme Fatale = fabulous.

Now onto Paris Fashion Week Spring 2011! This is so much harder to pick just one collection to champion Paris Fashion Week, with breathtakingly beautiful collections from Hermès, Chanel, Alexander McQueen, Miu Miu, Chloe, Elie Saab, Givenchy, Lanvin, Yves Saint Laurent, Loewe, Roland Mouret, the list goes on and on! I was tied between Valentino's 'Ladies who Power Lunch', Chloé's 'Off duty Ballerinas' and Elie Saab's 'Boardroom to Ballroom' collections, but seen as it's Paris, the city of Chic and Romance, Elie Saab has to win, with his beautiful colour palette, late 70s feel, and stunning, as always, dresses.
