Fabulous Magazine 'Face of Fabulous' Launch Party

I was lucky enough to be invited to Fabulous magazine's 'Face of Fabulous' bloggers launch party on Thursday night, where we were promised 'a behind the scenes' look at Fabulous, a chance to delve into their fashion wardrobe (along with make up, hair and styling) and to hear all about their new readers competition. I promise I'll try and keep the 'fabulous' puns to a minimum, but Fabulous magazine just makes me want to say fabulous (a lot).

The first thing I have to mention is the truly amazing location of their offices. We headed east to St Katherine's Dock and ascended to the 13th floor (oo-er!) to their very swish offices where we were greeted with name tags (gotta love a name tag) and a glass of champagne.

Amongst all the usual fun blogger activities: hair, make up and dress up areas (courtesy of New Look, including some shoes from their coveted LCF footwear collaboration), we also had a talk from Fabulous and Next Models about their brand new competition for budding models - Face of Fabulous.
The winner of the competition will appear on the cover of the magazine – which
comes free every Sunday with the News of the World – and will also scoop a global modelling contract with top international model agency Next Model Management, whose models include Alexa Chung, Alice Dellal, Petra Nemcova, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Karlie Kloss, Anja Ruibik, Ana Barros and Tali Lennox.

The competition will be hosted on Facebook at where readers can upload their pictures. Entries are then voted on by the public to reach a final shortlist of ten. The competition is open for entries until July 2nd and public voting closes at midnight on July 4th.

Fabulous Magazine’s Editor Rachel Richardson, Fashion Director Tracey Lea Sayer
and Next Model Management’s Head of New Faces Ross Young will pick the winner
of the prestigious prize from the shortlist.
The competition sounds really amazing, so I would urge any budding models to enter now. It was a 'fabulous' event (had to be done), and it's so fantastic and refreshing for a magazine to be reaching out to so many bloggers. After speaking to several of the Fabulous fashion editors (very nice they were, too), they seem very committed to engaging and working with bloggers now and in the future, and that's just fabulous!
