Clements Ribeiro for Evans - Swan

I might be biased, but I LOVE the Clements Ribeiro for Evans collection. The debut plus size designer collaboration between design duo, Inacio Ribeiro and Suzanne Clements, and the UK's plus size fashion leaders, Evans, is an explosion of prints, vintage inspired pieces and glamour.

The collection, titled 'Swan', is structured around 1940 inspired shapes in a mix of bold prints and colours is all about showcasing and flattering curves, without shying away from trends and stand-out design elements. The tea dresses are by far my favourite pieces and I love the red 'Joan' dress, as worn by plus size super model, Tara Lynn, as she poses with the designers.

'For our first range we addressed the different body shapes, with styles which are accessible but modern, with an emphasis on prints and femininity. It was our starting point, understanding different proportions and different needs behind a desire for fashion that is not different from the high fashion consumer. Far from being apologetic or patronising, we celebrated curves and voluptuousness.' Inacio Ribeiro

The collection launched online today, and will be in UK stores from Monday 2nd April. Sizes range from 14-32, and prices start from £25.

Titanic 3D Premiere - Kate Winslet (and Carina100) Red Carpet Style

It's not very often I get to write about a red carpet event and comment on not only what Kate Winslet wore, but what I was wearing too! Last night I headed to The Royal Albert Hall to watch the world premiere of Titanic 3D and I got to walk the red carpet (instead of just blogging about it!).

The very beautiful Kate Winslet was wearing a stunning Jenny Packham dress with structured crystal capped sleeves and a gathered waist. Her make-up was classic and her hair was rolled into a 1940s style. My 12 year old self was ecstatic at seeing Kate and a film I watched at the cinema more times than I care to admit the first time it came out, and Leo looked even better in 3D.

I'm sure you're just dying to know what I was wearing too, it's ok, you don't have to beg - I'll tell you. I wore my new favourite digital flower print Zara blouse, a black pencil skirt with New Look sandals and my lovely Zatchels bag.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley: Street Style Queen

If it ain't broke, don't fix it, eh, Rosie? Nothing says super model better than nailing your daytime 'off duty' look. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has done just that, and while it might be a bit samey, there's no denying the fact that I look at what she wears and want to own it. All of it. Especially the bags.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's style has gone up a gear as she's nailed the laid back model look that previously only 90s modelling royalty have achieved. With a legion of style fans, the trousers/jeans, statement jacket, oversized scarf and huge bag combo is working a treat. The thing that will appeal to most street style junkies is the fact that this look is achievable, and will work on most people.

Are you a Rosie fan?

The Great Gatsby: First Look

I can't wait for this year's Baz Luhrman adaptation of The Great Gatsby, featuring a very stylish cast including Carey Mulligan, Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, Isla Fisher and Gemma Ward. Sadly we'll have to wait until December for the film to be released, but the movie poster and some stills from the film have already been leaked to fans hungry for what is set to be the most glamourous and luxourious film of the year.

I'm a huge fan of the F. Scott Fitzgerald book which is synonymous with the roaring 20s, before the life of excess, jazz and exuberance imploded. It's a great read, and the style and fashions take centre stage. The original film, starring Mia Farrow and Robert Redford is also well worth watching.

This film is sure to set the tone for 20s style fashions this year, so stock up now on embellishment, dropped waists, palazzo pants, head-scarves, pearls and all things flapper.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the mums today, especially my yummy mummy (and granny!). I can't be with my mama today because I'm in Copenhagen, so I thought I'd do a little post dedicated to my lovely mum. I've also included a picture of my glamourous granny from the 60s - so happy Mother's Day to you too Granny (she always reads my blog!).

My mum is a constant source of inspiration for me, is always my biggest supporter and always makes me smile. Love you and have a fabulous Mother's Day!

Company Magazine's Style Blogger Awards 2012

Last week I went to the first ever Company Magazine Style Blogger Awards 2012 in East London. In association with New Look, the event was to celebrate the best of UK fashion bloggers and resulted in the most fashion bloggers I've ever seen in one room.

It was lots of fun, and, as ever, it's great to see print media getting behind bloggers and trying to build relationships. I was thrilled to be nominated and although I didn't win on the night, lots of very deserving winners took home the awards.

There was a dressing up section courtesy of New Look, with the best of their spring summer collection for us to look through. I picked out my favourite piece which was a candy-coloured, chiffon tennis dress - just dreamy, and apparently a favourite with lots of bloggers.

Thanks for a great night Company and New Look - can't wait for next year's awards!

Paris Fashion Week AW 2012 - Alexander McQueen

I've been trying to find the time to post about Paris Fashion Week for days now, so sorry that these are a little bit late to the party. In my (humble) opinion, the Paris Fashion Week shows have put the other global fashion week collections in the shade. There are so many PFW catwalk shows I'd love to feature, but I have to start with Alexander McQueen.

Following on from the stunning SS 2012 Alexander McQueen show, the AW 2012 show featured layers upon layers of ruffles and feathers in neutral and ivory shades, leading onto to dramatic blacks and reds. The visors may be a bit futuristic, but the dresses are classic twists on red carpet staples.

Go Blonde with Garnier Nutrisse Crème

I think regular readers will know I'm a hair colour addict, so I'm happy to share this how-to video from Garnier Nutrisse Crème that shows you how to go blonde - not brassy!

I really have had almost every hair colour going, from platinum blonde through to jet black (and a bit of red in-between!), and for the most part, I've coloured at home. I really love the Garnier Nutrisse Crème, especially the really amazing conditioner that comes in the pack.

Garnier have created these super handy 'home colour made easy' videos, with tips and guide times from hair colour experts. This ones focuses on going blonde, and it's got me itching to go blonde again.

I always promise to give readers and friends a look at me in the good ol' blonde days, so feast your eyes on this! Do you get tempted to join the blonde side too?

*This is a sponsored post, but I've included it as I have previously used, and like, Garnier Nutrisse Crème*

Stay Cool - Spring Summer 2012 ALDO

If there's something ALDO do very well, it's their advertising campaigns (and shoes, obviously). Their 'Stay Cool' spring summer 2012 campaign is fantastic, and focuses on the fact that we'd all love the summer to stretch out and go by in slow motion.

The ALDO campaigns have always been favourites of mine, I loved the 2010 ALDO 'Let's Dance' and ALDO 'Get Lucky', and the newest videos and fun shoot have got me hooked again. I'm loving the glam 80s styling and look of the new collection, with candy colours and bold colour clashes galore. Roll on summer!

See more from ALDO here.
