How to Register and Get Tickets for London Fashion Week

I can't tell you how many people have asked me "how do I register for London Fashion Week?" or "how do I get tickets for London Fashion Week shows?",  so now I'm in my 10th season of attending London Fashion Week (what the what?!) I've decided to put together a post telling you how.

As registration for LFW SS14 has just opened it's the perfect time to start planning for the September madness from Friday 13 September to Tuesday 17 September 2013 . Here are some of the main things you need to know if this is your first time attending London Fashion Week as a blogger.

1. You'll need to register as a blogger on the London Fashion Week site. There you'll need to enter your personal details, blog details, including the date your blog was founded, how frequently you post and your visitor stats, and finally your supporting documents. You will then hopefully be granted a LFW entry badge (this is not guaranteed, so keep your fingers crossed). This badge will be needed at shows and to get into all the fabulous LFW exhibitions, but don't panic if you don't hear back straight away. You sometimes won't here about blogger accreditation until a few weeks before the start of LFW.

2. You need to apply for the individual show tickets (but don't wait until you get your LFW blogger badge, that will come too late). Each show will be run by separate PRs, so the best thing to do is go to the 'schedule' section of the LFW site. On the right hand side, halfway down the schedule page, is a link for Mail Merge for Press. Download this file to find out which PR to contact for which show and then email then directly including your blog details, UK postal address and phone number. This takes quite a long time (ask any blogger who's done it!) but is the only way to get tickets for London Fashion Week, so well worth it.

If this is your first fashion week, don't forget to apply for On|Off schedule shows, they're lesser known designers and up-coming talent, and often support bloggers. The Somerset House BFC tent shows are the most popular and difficult to attend, so don't be disappointed if you don't get a ticket!

3. When attending the shows be sure to be professional, don't be rude to people, don't sit front row when you have a standing ticket, and always, always have water, a snack, chargers and flat shoes with you. And most importantly, be prepared for hard work. If you don't you may find you don't get invited next season!

If worse comes to worse and you don't get tickets or blogger accreditation anyone can go into the Somerset House courtyard and soak up the amazing LFW atmosphere. It's great for streetstyle shots and trend spotting!

Have I missed anything? What are your London Fashion Week tips?
