Lilac Loveliness at Boohoo.com

Maybe it's because it's spring, maybe it's because the sun is shining or maybe because pastels are everywhere you turn at the moment but I've got a serious crush on candy colours. And the colour that I'm really digging is lilac. From nail polish to pencil skirts, all I want is pretty pastels and lovely lilac.

So when I took to twitter and asked the people in the know where I could get a candy coloured midi skirt I was quickly answered by the lovely Mrs Bebe who told me of the perfect pastels at Boohoo.com.

I don't usually shop at Boohoo.com but once I started looking around I couldn't stop adding things to my basket. I treated myself to the Margot Quilted Midi Skirt in lilac and mint (whoops!), but at £10 each it would be rude not to, right? Then despite the sunshine and (slightly) warmer weather I also had to pick up the gorgeous Jessie Oversized Jumper in lilac, another steal at £12.The dipped hem and chunky knit will look great with grey skinny jeans or a pencil skirt.

What colour are you loving at the moment and have you shopped at Boohoo.com recently?

Food, glorious food: Sushi Samba, Flat Iron and Eat17

Man, I love food! So in celebration of some of the delicious meals I've had recently I thought of do a post about where I've been eating and drinking in the last few weeks.

First up was Sushi Samba where my lovely fiancé took me for my birthday in January. The main thing I was thinking was would the food live up to the hype and the jaw dropping view? It definitely did. The food was incredibly fresh, amazingly and inventively flavoured and that view didn't hurt either. While many people would assume from the name that this is a fishy joint and a no-go if sushi isn't your bag I would recommend you go for the duck and the wagyu beef alone. Mark and I fought over the last pieces!

Another old faithful that I go to time and time again is Eat17 in Walthamstow. It's a gorgeous little restaurant tucked away in Walthamstow Village that offers everything from gastro pub dinners to amazing breakfast and brunch. It's always a weekend treat to get brunch at Eat17, and you can't go wrong with the Eggs Benedict or the Full English.

Everyone who is carnivorous and loves a good bit of steak is going gaga for Flat Iron, and I am no exception. While the queues are long and the no booking policy is slightly infuriating the steak is both delicious and cheap, a rare combo! Rare, geddit?! Sorry. But seriously, the bar downstairs is atmospheric, the bartenders are friendly and speedy and the cocktails pack a punch - so much so you start to enjoy the wait for your meat.

Once you've been called to dine and straddled the worlds most uncomfortable stool you will want to order everything. And so you should! The steak is made even more amazing by the fabulous sides, including a personal favourite - creamed spinach - and a new found favourite, baked aubergine

Have you eaten anywhere delicious recently? Where should I eat next?

Afternoon Tea with Reiss: Spring/Summer 2014

When Reiss invited me to view their spring/summer collection and join them for afternoon tea at The Landmark Hotel it was too lovely an offer to turn down.

I'll get to the miniature cakes, finger sandwiches and scones served with mountains of jam and clotted cream later, but first let's talk clothes. I loved the Riviera chic and tropical prints which we're given a grown up make over thanks to khaki green and elegant midnight blue and the mix of bold pops of colour mixed with classic tailoring gave an easy confidence and luxe feel.

Instantly the palest lime 'Hedy' dress caught my eye. From the curved seam under the bust to the dainty cap sleeves this dress screamed vintage and is the ultimate dress for spring. I think I may be purchasing this one...

Not my bag, but gosh how I wish it was, were the amazing trousers suits. Channel Bianca Jagger or Anjelica Huston and be the boss in the boardroom and on the studio 54 dance floor.

And don't forget the swimwear! Palm tree print bikinis and a va-va-voom swimsuit that Rhianna would be proud to call her own were awesome. The red swimsuit looked like you'd need three people to put it on and a license to wear it but wow!

Reiss also treated us to Essie manicures in the season's colours. Every blogger there went for this icy blue shade, myself included, and it's easy to see why.

Thanks for having me Reiss and for my gorgeous 'Minty' clutch bag. Midnight blue and emerald green may now be my new obsession!

What's your favourite piece from Reiss S/S14?
